Acceleron Law Group adds three Partners, Venture Fund practice

Acceleron Law Group, LLP is pleased to announce the addition of Elizabeth Chandler, Andrea Cohen and Julie Ryan as Partners of the firm.

“We are excited to have Liz, Andrea, and Julie join the Acceleron team as Partners, as the firm continues to grow in 2017. Each of these new Partners bolsters Acceleron’s mission of providing excellent and efficient corporate transactional legal services, including supporting the corporate M&A and financing activities of our clients,” says Robert Rugani, a co-Founder and Partner of Acceleron.

“All three of these Partners have valuable years of experience in our core corporate, business, and technology transactional practices. The addition of Andrea, allows Acceleron to expand its services to include venture fund formation, operations, and regulatory matters,” says Fred Hasani, a Partner in Acceleron’s Southern California office.

Elizabeth Chandler: Liz’s practice focuses on the representation of emerging growth companies at all stages of maturity, from startup companies to mature technology companies; venture capital firms; and angel investors. Liz is experienced in all aspects of corporate representation, including equity and debt financings, securities offerings, mergers, acquisitions and asset purchase transactions, corporate formation, corporate governance, strategic business counseling, and commercial agreements. Prior to joining Acceleron Law Group, Liz developed her corporate and securities practice at several large law firms, including DLA Piper US LLP, Fenwick and West LLP, and Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati PC.

Andrea Cohen: Andrea’s practice focuses on the formation of venture funds, their operations, related regulatory matters, and representation of their members and managers; limited liability company and partnership structuring; representation of emerging growth companies and their investors; and equity financings, acquisitions, and general corporate matters. Previously, Andrea served as Of Counsel at Morrison & Foerster, LLP and Nixon Peabody LLP, and as an associate at Cooley LLP. Andrea also developed her legal expertise and hands-on business attorney acumen by serving as General Counsel for a funding platform for tech startups in China & Southeast Asia and as a Vice President for an online secondary trading market platform where she handled legal affairs.

Julie Ryan: Julie advises clients on a variety of strategic and business transactions and legal issues, including equity and debt financings, stock and asset purchases, partnerships and joint ventures, service contracts, contractor agreements, distribution agreements, licensing, entity formation and structuring, and other general corporate matters. She also specializes in securities laws and compliance issues. Previously, Julie was a Partner at Russ August & Kabat in Los Angeles, and prior to that, she practiced with Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld and Clifford Chance Rogers & Wells in Washington, D.C., in the fields of cross-border finance, securities, and international mergers and acquisitions. Julie also shares her legal acumen as an Associate Professor of Lawyering Skills and the Associate Director for LL.M. Legal Writing and Advocacy at USC Gould School of Law, where she teaches courses in contract drafting, legal writing and advocacy, mergers and acquisitions, and transactional lawyering skills.
