John’s practice focuses on corporate legal services for emerging and established businesses, private equity funds, venture capital funds, founders and entrepreneurs. John regularly advises clients across a broad spectrum of industries, including technology, healthcare, life sciences, apparel, consumer goods and real estate, on a myriad of matters, from transformative transactions to day-to-day business and legal issues.

As a seasoned attorney, John has advised buyers, sellers, boards and executive teams in transactions of all sizes, including numerous successful M&A transactions involving an aggregate enterprise value in excess of $25 billion.

John draws on his extensive experience in complex mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity financings, as well as commercial and general corporate transactions to provide his clients with creative and business-savvy counsel and solutions. Whether he is providing practical advice on day-to-day issues or structuring and negotiating complex M&A, venture capital and general corporate transactions, John is squarely focused on creating value for his clients.

Prior to joining Acceleron Law Group, John was a partner at Massumi + Consoli, LLP, a highly successful Los Angeles based M&A boutique, where he advised private equity funds, venture capital funds, founders and entrepreneurs on mergers and acquisitions and venture investments. Prior to joining Massumi + Consoli, LLP, John practiced for a collective eleven years in the corporate departments of world renowned law firms O’Melveny & Myers LLP and Latham & Watkins LLP where he represented public and private companies and private equity funds in complex M&A transactions, venture financings, equity and debt financings, corporate governance, securities laws compliance and general corporate matters.

John earned his law degree from the UCLA School of Law where he graduated Order of the Coif. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree with honors from Boston College. In addition to practicing law, John enjoys teaching and mentoring young lawyers. John is currently a Lecturer in Law at the USC Gould School of Law where he teaches a course on transactional due diligence. John was selected as a California Rising Star in 2017 and 2018 by Super Lawyers for Mergers & Acquisitions.

John lives in Costa Mesa, CA with his wife and four children. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, surfing and golfing.
